"Don't bring me down"

"You got me runnin goin out of my mind,
You got me thinkin that Im wastin my time.
Don't bring me down,no no no no no,
Ill tell you once more before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down."

Electric Light Orchestra- Better known as ELO

Hello!

So we're starting off the day with a little Electric Light Orchestra. They had the right idea with this song. ''Don't bring me down," I'm sure at some point we've all wanted to say that, to whom ever or whatever. I can tell you I've certainly wanted to say those words on different occasions. Of course, instead of actually saying those words, I usually tell myself that "I WON'T let this get me down."At times, it's easier said then done, but overall, my experience with it has been extremely effective.

Why do we get down? There are a slew of reasons I'm sure. If I were to write them all out, this post could be almost two to three pages long. In other words, the answer to the question is, there are MANY different things that get us down. I guess the next question would be, "how can you get out of being let down?" Easy, everyone has their own formula, their own unique way of handling whatever is going on, regrouping, and moving forward.

Little info on me, I'm allergic to bad attitudes. I don't react well to them. They get me down. Personally, I can't stand them. It can throw off my whole day. Truth is, even if I have a bad attitude, and I've plenty, it still throws off my day because I know it's consuming me and effecting others around me. When bad attitudes or even bad situations come my way, all I want them to do is go away. Sadly, that's easier said then done.

In a perfect world, when faced with something that gets us down, we could just snap our fingers and POOF, it would be gone. That's not reality though. The fact of the matter is that you have to face what the situation is front of you. How are you gonna stop whatever it is in front of you? Well, that my friend is something only you have the answer to. You're not happy? Want it to change? Then fix it. Once again, easier said then done, but if you're not in a place you want to be, then fix it. It probably won't exactly be a walk in the park, but in the end you'll be satisfied and in the place you want to be......better.

On a day to day basis we run into different things that will get us down. Sometimes it's easy just to turn your shoulder and tell yourself it might get better. After a while, it's time to quit lying to yourself and admit that it's getting you down and there needs to be a change. You can be and are brave. You're probably much braver then you think. So, go handle it tiger, don't let whatever it is get you down.

Kelly Clarkson had it right / 007 / THANKSGIVING

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Today is fabulous Monday! A new start, a new week.

Over the weekend, I had a series of life questions just flood my head. One thing that kept floating in my head was this idea that when faced with something that just sort of rocks your boat and really shakes you up mental and physically, yet you are able to come out of it, that's a pretty good boost to move you in a new direction with your life. Basically I'm saying, if you've made it through something in your life that was pretty traumatic, let that be motivation to bigger and better things with your life. Allow it to make you even stronger. After all, you only live once.

Some of us actually live twice. I wouldn't necessarily look at that in a good way, but it has happened.

Now that I've given you something to think about for the day, we should then hit on the fact that this is Thanksgiving week. Friends, family, food, football, and thankfulness. Four fun "f" and a "t". Add a dash of Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving movie along with a parade and you're all set for a Marquez kind of thanksgiving.

Make today count

HOLA!

It's Thursday. I hope all is well.

So, the title of this post is "make today count, " in other words, today only happens once. We'll never get today back again.

By the end of the day today you should feel happy that you made the most of the day. Remember, when it's over, it's over. So, if you'd like to look back at the end of the day, and smile because you made the most of it.....then do it. It's just that easy. Scrabble Great Day Picture

What's in this for you?

Well kids, I do apologize for leaving you hanging last Wednesday. True story, I spent pretty much all of last week getting to be an extra in a movie and a t.v show. Of course on movie & t.v sets it usually requires you to show up way early (6 usually 7a.m.), phones are usually a no no, and the hours are very long, and I LOVE every minute of it.

One thing I can tell you, is that while your standing around waiting before the director yells "Action", you think a lot. Or at least, I think a lot. I begin observing what's around me and start thinking. I begin thinking of that phrase "life is a movie."

Sometimes it feels as if we work so hard for something, and that "something" can be whatever means the most to you. You know that "something" that just drives you to move forward? That "something" that just engulfs your thoughts, and fuels your passion? I know you know what I'm talking about, we all have that "something" inside of us. Now, only you know what that "something" is.

While on this road to achieving what it is your going for, I'm assuming it hasn't exactly been a walk in the park. Nobody said life was easy. There must have and been, and maybe still are, some tuff times and of course obstacles you have to get past. I'm sure those obstacles seem impossible to get past. Im sure your motivation has been put on pause and your drive just seems to have gone on neutral. It's ok, though. You can't be 100% all the time. If you are, more power to you. Many of us wish to be 100%  all the time. I know I do. Mainly because, I dig the feeling. Feeling 100% increases your drive to strive for that "something" you're aiming for. Keep going

Look, the truth is, this path to whatever your on will probably have a few bumps along the way that will slow you down. At times, it will indeed slow you down and also get you to start questioning  why it is your on this path and heaven forbid, even make you question  if it's even worth it. And ya know what? It is worth it! It's worth it because it's yours. It's YOUR "something", your passion, your love. It's the thing that is the equivalent of breathing for you, it's  the thing that lights you up inside,  ..... it's  your "something."

There are high and low points on the road to you gaining what your striving for, but try not to get bogged down when you hit those low points. Not easy, I know, but just think about how far you've come (with wherever you are), and how your getting close to what you want.

I'm constantly in a battle with myself. Like I said, I'm human, so I go 100 to 50%. The key is to remember not to let that slow you down. It can, and will try to happen. Don't let it. You're better then that! Please trust me when I say keep striving, because when you do hit that "something", the something you've been working so hard for, and you will, the pay off is EXTRAORDINARY!!!!!!

In the words of Dr.Seues:

" So...
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So...get on your way! "

Don't forget.

Tell me everything part 2

.......please forgive me. While writing the last blog post, my wifi went bye bye , then I received a call to hustle because I was asked to be an extra in a movie. Therefore, it was a mad dash to get ready and head out the door. So, I'm in a cab, on my way to the movie set where phones are not allowed. We will surely pick up where we left off in due time. Not to worry (:

Tell me everything

What a lovely day! It's Wednesday! Meaning, we're at the halfway mark. The smack dab middle of the week.

By common knowledge, today is better known as hump day. In the Urban Dictionary, it states:

1. hump day
word of the day: March 09, 2005
The middle of a work week (Wednesday); used in the context of climbing a proverbial hill to get through a tough week.
According to Wikipedia, they state:

Wednesday is sometimes informally referred to as "hump day" in North America, a reference to the fact that Wednesday is the middle day—or "hump"—of a typical work week.

So kids, happy Wednesday or better yet, happy "hump day".

If someone were to come up to you today and ask "how has your week been so far?", how would you reply? How have you viewed your week so far?

Personally, this week so far has been to a degree pretty rad. Just because I've been able to see the days I have because I'm alive. That's one element that's been good. On the other hand, it's been sort of a struggle motivation wise.

I consider you, yourself, to be your own best coach, but sometimes it's not always easy. You know, being your own coach. You want so badly to do good for yourself, yet when it comes to any follow through, it can sometimes feel impossible to do. I wish I knew why that is but sadly, I'm not a psychic nor do I have a crystal ball.

Staying on the straight and narrow sure would be nice, but the truth is, when you have different obstacles to get past, you can find yourself straying away from the path you're on.

Just like most of us, we can get lost from time to time about what we are doing, or where we're going, how to get there, and so on. That's ok though. At least it makes life interesting. I have a buddy of mine who was basically explaining to me how they are constantly faced with obstacles, one right after the other, and that they feel it will all eventually come to a halt because there is pr

Time

Time is funny.

Time can be so slow when you need it to speed up and time also, for some reason, speeds up when you need it to go slow down.

Have you ever just took a moment to stop focusing on "time", and just smelled the roses? My grandfather has this saying. Sometimes you should just stop and tell yourself, "no where to go, but all day to get there."

A simple concept that is probably, for some of us, a very difficult thing to do.

So, if not today, or tomorrow, but at some point, try to take time out of your day and just enjoy what's around you and whatever good fortune lies ahead of you :)

I'll sleep when I'm dead

Have you ever noticed that dogs and cats have funny sleeping habits? Some can just sleep on and off all day and stay perfectly calm throughout. Others find time to sleep, but for the most part stay awake as much as possible because they don't want to miss anything. You gotta admire that level of commitment.

We as humans need sleep. In fact the human body needs exactly, well, just check out the chart below:

How Much Sleep Do You Really Need

Everyone out there is guilty of oversleeping. I'll be the first to admit it. Just know though, when you oversleep the problems that could develop aren't that great. Oversleeping can lead to back pain, depression, heart disease, even death. Just check out http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/guide/physical-side-effects-oversleeping and read along. You 'll see, I'm not just making this stuff up. Not to mention, you totally waste away beautiful days and amazing moments.

If I slept all day, in one way it would feel kinda nice. But on the other hand, I slept all day. Which means, the day is now gone. I'll never get that day back again. There isn't some sort of rewind button I can press. When the day is over that means it's over. It's gone forever. No re-dos.

By not sleeping all day, your day is open to so many possibilities. Think about it. You are now susceptible to new adventures, situations, random moments that can lead to who knows what. The whole day is a blank canvas just waiting to be painted on.

If you are one of those people that pre determine the outcome of things or are already putting a negative spine on it from the get go, well then I say- STOP. By predetermining what your day is already going to look like be it good or bad you've already set yourself up for a let down. You've already set expectations that if they are not met, will led to sever disappointment. On top of that, by already putting a negative spine on your day, even if it turns out to be pretty good one, it won't be because you've claimed it won't. So the parts of the day that were good won't matter. You've put it in your head they won't. Such a pity.

When you have decided to greet the day, decided to be alive and enter the land of the living, the first step in your day has just begun.

Sometimes I feel silly for waking up at the early hours, I do. I don't necessarily have a choice. Mainly because I have a series of stretches and exercises to do first before I really even get started. Sometimes after I'm done I'll just go back to bed for a bit. But when I don't. Oh! It is on. I'm able to see the sunrise,
 Cielo de Turquia
 Sunrise
As The Sky Exploded (Explored #60)
there are parts of the day that when you look up at the sky, you can see a masterpiece.
clouds

And seasons! I, and hopefully you as well, get to witness the seasons! Since its fall, trust me. You don't want to miss out on that.

So, waking up isn't the easiest to do sometimes, but once you've experienced the day, you have plenty of motivation to wake up. Perhaps see what new adventures may lay ahead of you. It's expecting the unexpected.

One of my favorite quotes I heard when I was young and still use today goes like this:

"I'll sleep when I'm dead. I don't want to miss a thing"

Hope- Take the Journey

It's Tuesday! So, happy Tuesday!

About 2 years ago I was given a book entitled, My Voice- OVERCOMING: A Journey Of Hope. Now, I can't lie. I haven't read the book back to back yet, but what I have read has been super enlightening. On top of that, the title has so much power. Just the title is inspiring. A Journey Of Hope, what a concept.

Everyone has faced challenges head on along with facing ups and downs, and everything in between. Though, we've somehow made it through all of this. I believe majority of why we get through whatever situations pop up in our lives unexpectedly, is because inside all of us is this glimmer of hope. You can be conscience or unconscious of it, but it's inside you believe it or not. Of course this is just my opinion, but I believe it to be true.

You know when your in a situation you never thought you'd be in or could even happen? The type of situation that you just aren't sure of a good outcome? Well, what is it that drives you to keep moving forward? What is it that keeps you motivated to see a brighter outcome? It's hope.

Hope.

In the English dictionary, hope is defined as so:

HOPE- verb: to want something to happen or be true and think it could happen or to be true

So, be you an optimist, idealist, realist, whatever. There is, somewhere in all of us, this smiggin of hope. Don't forget that.

Hope is a pretty awesome tool to posse. Good thing we are all equip with it :)
