Gotta love that JEM!

I'm  going back to my childhood for this one. You'll see in some of my previous posts that I am and forever will be a fan of the 80s cartoon, Jem and the Holograms. In fact, while I was in the hospital I resorted to some of those old songs from the show.

With all the craziness that's been going on around the country and all over the news, one of the songs from the cartoon popped in my head. In a frantic moment, I searched the internet to find the song and the lyrics. After a few minutes, bam! There is was:

We Can Change it

(We can change it) when the darkness enters in
(We can change it) and add some light
(We can change it) when the fears and doubts begin
(We can change it) and make it right

There is so much we can do (we can change it)
We can make it all like new (we can change it)
We can change it (re-arrange it)
And together (we will make it through)
We can change it!

(We can change it) though it seems we'll never win
(We can change it) and we'll be fine
(We can change it) we'll do it from within
(We can change it) and make it shine
We can change it!

So that's a snip it. You get it though, right? I mean, change is possible, especially if we work TOGETHER.

Thank you to all illistrators/animators. Not every cartoon will possess a good moral in its story line. Yet, those that do...I thank you.

The word of the day is "why?"

It's as if people don't even TRY to be empathetic & kind anymore; Don't put the effort into thinking about others; How their actions affect others and/or wrongly assuming about others. It's laziness. Empathy is the most important cornerstone in our society. It's crumbling with this "Entitled Generation" we have at the moment. Please take a moment, look around, put yourself in 'their' shoes & imagine. Be kind even when you think there is no reason to be. You might be surprised about the outcome :)

Hello! I hope your day is good.... I'm allergic to bad attitudes.

The other day I  went to the hairdresser and while I was waiting for my ride I had a small discussion with the other hairstylist in the salon. She was telling me how she had gone out of town last weekend and was expressing her aggravation during her trip. Just to clarify, she actually did have a good trip however, the entire weekend she had seen different healthy, able bodied individuals being wheeled around or using motorized wheelchairs (rascal scooters). These individuals were completely sane and capable of moving yet chose to be lazy. Thus, our conversation began.

She then expressed that one of her major pet peeves is seeing someone who is healthy, yet chooses to be lazy. I had to agree. Granted, you shouldn't always judge a book by its cover, and because you don't know other people's story, but come on. When I see a women park in a handicap parking spot, without a handicap pass, then get out in 6 inch heels....I have to wonder.

Lazy People...wow, just realized I must be lazy, what about you? comment if you actually read the number, I doubt there will be 3. Insistonactivity.com

Lazy isn't bad. Everyone is allowed to be lazy now and then...but come on people. I guess for someone like myself and so many others out there who are unable to do simple activities like run, jump, jog, etc. it feels a little like a slap in the face. Plus, if you have the ability to do those things, why wouldn't you do them? Is it because they're to tough? To hard? Well, all I have to say, is that you have no idea how lucky you are to be able  to do those things, trust me. Because, once you lose the ability and you're unable to do those things, it's a whole different ball game.

When you don't move and are just lazy all day, your health becomes at risk. You cut your life expectancy in half, and who wants to do that? IF this is the only life we are given, why not make the very most of it?

So to all those out there who prefer to coast through life and take shortcuts, I'm unable to stop you. Though I do wish you well and hope that your good conscience kicks in and eventually you'll begin making better decisions like being kind to others. It's worth it
