One like, two likes, three likes, it's over!

Happy Wednesday!

If you read my last blog post then you're familiar with my "like" challenge. For those of you who are unfamiliar, I'll give you the run down. Last week while I was at a coffee shop, I overheard a conversation where every other word used was "like". Therefore, I decided I would try to go a full weekend without using the word "like".

How did it go you might ask...well not as successful as I had thought. Over the course of the weekend, I tallied up not one, not two, but almost 30-35 likes. Doesn't seem like much, but over the course  of three days, I had my fair share of "likes", I also was studded that I use it more in my vocabulary then I thought.

New thought- get the word "like" out of my vocabulary. Thus  far, I've only used the word "like" twice in the past day. PROGRESS!!!!!

Still moving forward with my challenge. Something I always try to remind myself: "Where there is a will, there is a way."

To "like" or not to "like, that is the question

Happy Thursday. I'm sitting at a coffee shop on a beautiful day. The sun is shining, I'm drinking some water along with my regular coffee drink, headphones in my ears listening to classical music while I go over my speech for the upcoming summit I'm speaking at, all seems right right? Well, almost...

Before putting my headphones in, I couldn't help but hear the two ladies next to me and their slightly loud conversation. It wasn't the conversation that bothered me or even the volume, it was the fact that every other word out of each other's mouth was the word "like".

Next thing I know, I'm starting to count how many times the word "like" was said. As of right now they're almost at 30. It hasn't even been a full two minutes yet. Well this got me thinking, I wonder how many times I use the word "like" in my daily conversations, how many times my friends use the word "like", my family, and so on.

The English language is a fun and complicated one, but man... It's an eye opener that many of us have given up on it, taken the easy way out, and "like" just used "like" to speed things up in our conversations.

Therefore as of today, I've decided to challenge myself. Can I go a whole day, perhaps even a week without using the word "like" in my vocabulary?  This will definitely be a big wake up call, but a fun little experiment, and trust me, I'll be updating you. The weekend is coming up, so this will be really neat to see what happens.

So before like the clock starts, let me like get everything like out of my system. I like think by like getting all the like's out, this might like make things like a little easier.

Ok, so like, have a like great day, and I'll like be posting again like soon. Here we like go, and like, the time like starts....NOW!
