The other day I went to the hairdresser and while I was waiting for my ride I had a
small discussion with the other hairstylist in the salon. She was
telling me how she had gone out of town last weekend and was expressing
her aggravation during her trip. Just to clarify, she actually did have a good
trip however, the entire weekend she had seen different healthy, able bodied individuals being wheeled around or using motorized wheelchairs
(rascal scooters). These individuals were completely sane and capable of
moving yet chose to be lazy. Thus, our conversation began.
She
then expressed that one of her major pet peeves is seeing someone who
is healthy, yet chooses to be lazy. I had to agree. Granted, you
shouldn't always judge a book by its cover, and because you don't know
other people's story, but come on. When I see a women park in a handicap
parking spot, without a handicap pass, then get out in 6 inch
heels....I have to wonder.
Lazy
isn't bad. Everyone is allowed to be lazy now and then...but come on
people. I guess for someone like myself and so many others out there who
are unable to do simple activities like run, jump, jog, etc. it feels a
little like a slap in the face. Plus, if you have the ability to do
those things, why wouldn't you do them? Is it because they're to tough?
To hard? Well, all I have to say, is that you have no idea how lucky you
are to be able to do those things, trust me. Because, once you lose the ability and you're unable to do those things, it's a whole different
ball game.
When you don't move and are just lazy all
day, your health becomes at risk. You cut your life expectancy in half, and who wants to do that? IF this is the only life we are given, why not make the very most of it?
So to all those out there who prefer to coast through life and take shortcuts, I'm unable to stop you. Though I do wish you well and hope that your good conscience kicks in and eventually you'll begin making better decisions like being kind to others. It's worth it
